Carolyn Johnson is a licensed business intermediary with Sunbelt Business Sales and Acquisitions, a business brokerage located in Alameda. As a business intermediary her job is to help people buy or sell a business. Carolyn came to Sunbelt as a business advisor and trainer with over twenty years of experience in small business management and finance. She continues her advisory and training roles assisting business clients from startup to exit.
Prior to the establishment of this Business Advisory practice, Carolyn was a Principal of the Genesis Capital Group, where she provided advisory and corporate financial services to privately held companies. She was also Director of Consulting and Grant Programs at the Northern California Community Loan Fund (NCCLF) where she managed a commercial real estate grant fund and led the expansion and integration of NCCLF’s financial and real estate consulting and training programs. As a loan officer at NCCLF, she underwrote loans for nearly 40 organizations with a cumulative total project value in excess of $200 million. As a Vice President at Cornish & Carey Commercial, working principally in investment sales, she brokered nearly $250 million in commercial real estate transactions.
Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles and Masters degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration in the fields of Corporate Finance, Real Estate Finance and Marketing from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, New York, from which she graduated with honors as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Currently, Carolyn is pursuing her doctorate at Saint Mary’s College of California in Educational Leadership.
